NBC Edits out Important Information in Trayvon Martin Case

The Trayvon Martin case has taken America by storm. Everyone believes something else about the case, and some believe that the murder of 17 year old Trayvon Martin was racially motivated. NBC got the audio 911 call that was made by the accused murderer George Zimmerman. In the video the the 911 operator asks what ethnicity Trayvon Martin is, and Zimmerman says that he thinks that he is black. NBC edited the 911 operators question out so it sounds like Mr. Zimmerman is saying "This black kid looks up to no good." This is not acceptable for such a major news outlet company to do and they have a lot of explaining to do.

The Meanest Airlines Award Goes To... United Airlines

Every year, the AQR (Airline Quality Ratings) are released for the public to see. This year, United Airlines received the worst rating amongst customers that have flown with them. This is not good for a big time company that had recently merged with Continental Airlines. They need to start treating their customers right, and show the public that they are a legitimate company.

Race Controversy over the 'Hunger Games'

The movie, The Hunger Games, has become a must see movie since its release last Friday March 23. The movie has attracted many different groups of people from a wide range of ages and races. Many of the fans that went to see the movie read the books that the movie is based off of. The book is a best seller and has been read by many people. The controversy that has been unfolding has to do with the races of the characters in the book and the movie. There are three characters in the movie that are played by African American actors. The readers of the books have been posting inappropriate things on their twitter pages saying that the book described these three characters as white people, but the movie shows them as African Americans.

Here is are a couple of the tweets that have been posted.

"why does rue have to be black gonna lie kinda ruined the movie."
"Awkward moment when Rue is some black girl and not the little blonde innocent girl you picture."


There were other tweets that were a lot more inappropriate.

Sean Payton Suspension

The head coach of the New Orleans Saints, Sean Payton has been suspended for one year without pay for his involvement in running the bounty hunter program. Players were getting paid extra money if they injured players from other teams. Roger Goodell the commissioner of the NFL, came down on Sean Payton hard and completely was against the bounty hunting that was going on within the New Orleans Saints organization.

I do agree that Sean Payton as long as other coaches and players involved in this issue should have been punished for their involvement in bounty hunting, but Coach Payton's punishment was way too harsh. If you play football, you should accept the fact that you may get injured. In football, the other person is trying to hurt you. That is a big part of the game. A one year suspension for Coach Payton is way to harsh, and I believe that Roger Goodell should enforce a much less harsh punishment.

Plane malfunctions and must land on planes belly

The organization that owns this airplane has a lot of explaining to do after a plane malfunctioned and had to make an emergency landing. Here is the video, had to of been extremely scary for all of the passengers.
