The first round of the Men's NCAA tournament started out just like every other year: Very Entertaining! the second round was just as good, but with games coming down to the wire that the referee's missed the calls. The University of Washington Vs. The North Carolina Tar Heels was one of the worst officiaiting performances in basketball that i have seen in awhile. The ball went out of bounds with 2 seconds left which is more than enough time for the Huskies of the University of Washington to tie the game and send it into Overtime. this was no the case because the ref called the ball out of bounds with 0.8 seconds left: RIDICULOUS!!!!!
The second game that got me livid was #1 seed Pittsburgh Vs. the university of Butler. BYU up by 2 after free throws hit by Mack with 5 seconds left. Pitt comes down the court and throws up a prayer and was fouled? you cant call that with 2 seconds left!!!!!!! Luckily for butler the pitt offensive player made two out of three, but this isn't even the worst part of the game from the referee's. after the member of the pitt team missed the third free throw there was 0.8 seconds left and as a butler and pitt players were going for the ball the ref's called a foul, which later the butler player hit 1 of 2 to end the game! HOW DO YOU CALL A FOUL WITH 0.8 SECONDS LEFT!???
the referee's this year are calling way too many charges, along with ticky tac fouls. they need to let the boys play and let this years NCAA tournament be like all of the ones in the past: THE BEST SPORTING EVENT OF THE YEAR!!!!
